I am back with another fun and smelling good DIY.. I soooo love fragrances..
The best thing about home made perfume is that you can customize it the way you want by adding the oils of your choice. Another best thing is that it is all natural. No alcohol, just the blending of oils and you are good to go.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED :
Double boiler
Olive oil/jojoba oil
Essential oils. ( I'm using sandalwood oil for base coat, jasmine oil for middle coat and musk oil for top coat)
Vaseline
Medicinal dropper
Measuring Spoon
Containers/stick ones will also do.
NOTE : A perfume is a concoction of 3 parts: the base coat, middle coat and the top coat.
Top coat : Any citrusy oil can be used, i.e lemon oil, orange oil, musk oil, etc.
Middle coat : Floral oil is used, i.e jasmine oil, lavender oil, etc.
Base coat : Woodsy oil is used, i.e sandalwood, pine, cedar, etc.
Other categories of oils like spicy, minty, oriental could be used additionally.
Do check out the Khadi outlets to buy essential oils. They have some really nice smelling ones on super affordable prices. I bought the sandalwood and jasmine oil from them, and the musk oil is from fabindia.
DIRECTIONS :
* Take 2 teaspoons each of vaseline and olive oil and warm them together on a double boiler.
Now, this blend turned out to be perfect for me, but as per your preferences, you can always experiment with the quantity of oil.
I would suggest to keep a pen and paper with you and keep on writing down the number of oil drops you put in so you would not be confused later on.
You can make a blend of other oils as well according to their groups and put them in the same order of base coat, middle coat and top coat.
*Stir it and put the mixture in a container. It will harden up within few seconds.
Apply it to your pulse points and let people sniff it and crave for it.
You never know, it might turn out to be your signature scent.
I highly recommend this particular blend of perfume. The smell is highly sophisticated like the one that you get to smell in ISKCON temple, DELHI. It smells like flowers mixed with agarbatti with the dash of wood. I am kinda weird in explaining smells, I hope you got the hang of it. And yes, believe me on that, Its perfect to woo your partners.
So,be unique, try out with different smells, and give it as a gift to your friends, family, partners.
Enjoy your own homemade solid perfumes.
Thanks for reading.
Priya :)
